Time Management
Most of us feel that we do not have enough time to "get everything done." This is an accurate statement. We do not have time to get "everything done." Thus, the problem. We try to do "EVERYTHING" we cannot. We then feel overwhelmed, depressed, anxious, worried, or many other negative feelings. Time is the one thing that is equal for all of us. Our day is only 24 hours. We cannot buy, save, barter, borrow, or steal time. We can only spend it.
Shorten your "To Do List." Have a relational goal, a professional goal, a task goal, and a personal goal. Always schedule yourself some time for relaxation and self care. (Even 5 -15 minutes) By doing this you will actually be more effective and efficient when you are doing other things.
Always set priorities. "Will this use of time be helpful for me next week, next month, and next year?" Ask yourself is this the best use of my time? If you are worrying, or anxious about something, it is not an effective use of your time.
Time management includes lightening up on yourself. Do not put more on "your plate than you can eat." The longer the task list the more stressed we become. Focus on what you get done, rather than what you do not get done. Appreciate yourself at the end of each day. At the end of each creation day, God pronounced the day "Good." That is a great example for each of us to follow.
Set good boundaries with self, family, friends and co-workers. Be able and willing to say "No" without explanation or guilt. Be willing to forgive yourself during the day for a mistake or for not getting something done. Become a good friend to yourself. You get to be with you everyday - be kind. Compliment yourself throughout the day as you would a friend who is helpful and kind. Catch yourself and others doing kind random acts of kindness and then pay it forward.
Every day notice something you are grateful for, something that is positive, and be sure to LAUGH.
Make a Great Day
